- Three trimesters, 9 modules, ending with mentored final research projects
3 semesters, course by course.
Trimester 13 courses
- CD101Economics for Community Development
The economic ideas a community worker needs: livelihoods, local markets, poverty and inequality, and how to read the economic forces acting on a village or ward.
- CD102Basic Quantitative Research Methods
Surveys, sampling and simple statistics for community assessment, with practice in designing a questionnaire and interpreting the results honestly.
- CD103Effective Writing
Writing that gets things done: reports, proposals and funding applications, with clear structure and plain language for different readers.
Trimester 23 courses
- CD201Development Advocacy and Outreach
How to represent a community's needs to authorities, donors and the public: stakeholder mapping, campaign planning, messaging and coalition building.
- CD202Government and Governance Structures
The structures of government from national to local level in Myanmar and how communities engage with them, including the governance arrangements that have emerged since 2021.
- CD203Community Development for Youth
Approaches to organising and developing with young people: participation, leadership development, youth-led projects and the role of youth in community change.
Trimester 33 courses
- CD301Cultural Diversity and Dialogue
Working across ethnic, religious and linguistic differences: the principles of inclusive dialogue and the practical skills to facilitate it in divided communities.
- CD302Entrepreneurship for Community Development
Social enterprise and income-generating activities as tools for development: identifying opportunities, business models, simple finance and measuring social impact.
- CD303Mentorship for Final Research Projects
Supervised work on each student's final research project, from framing the question to presenting findings to the cohort.

- Understand the social, economic and governance forces acting on local communities in Myanmar.
- Design, advocate for and deliver community development work with young people and across cultural lines.
- Produce research and writing that supports further study or professional community work.
