- TE3201Philosophical Foundation of Education2 credits
How philosophy relates to teaching: the major philosophies of education, what each implies for the purpose of schooling and the role of the teacher, and how a teacher's own philosophy shapes the classroom.
- TE3202Psychological Foundation of Education2 credits
The critical role of educational psychology in teaching: how learners develop, think, remember and are motivated, and how those insights are combined into everyday teaching decisions.
- TE3203Sociological Foundation of Education2 credits
Education as a social institution: family, community, culture and inequality as forces on children's learning, and how a theoretical grounding in sociology supports a child's holistic development.

- General Methodology2 credits
Principles of lesson planning, questioning, classroom management and learner-centred methods that apply across subjects, practised through micro-teaching and peer feedback.
- Methodology in Specialized Subject2 (2)
Subject-specific teaching methods in the student's chosen specialisation, delivered in two sessions under the same module, each carrying two credits.

- Educational Assessments2 credits
Designing and using formative and summative assessment: writing clear learning objectives, constructing fair tests and rubrics, giving feedback and interpreting results to improve teaching.
- Educational Guidance and Counseling2 credits
The teacher's role in guiding and supporting learners: recognising needs, basic counselling skills, referral and building a safe, inclusive classroom.
- Teaching Practicum or Study Paper2 credits
Either supervised practice teaching in a real classroom or a written study paper that applies the programme's foundations to a question of the student's choice.

- Demonstrate how philosophy is related to teaching and apply a teaching philosophy in the classroom.
- Explain the critical role of educational psychology and combine it with teaching practice.
- Use the theoretical foundations of sociology for children's holistic development.
